Georgia (Bosscher) Shriwise

Hometown: Madison, WI

Georgia (Bosscher) Shriwise was a defining force in women’s ultimate for over a decade, combining elite athleticism with inspiring leadership. Known for her explosive speed, relentless work ethic, and unmatched throwing power, Georgia was the player opponents feared and teammates trusted in every high-pressure moment. Her ability to get open, dominate in the air, and deliver pinpoint hucks made her one of the most complete players of her era.

Georgia’s ultimate journey began in high school in Madison, Wisconsin, where her talent quickly propelled her to the national stage. A two-time USA Junior Women’s team member (silver in 2004, gold in 2006), she captured additional attention at University of Wisconsin, where she captained UW Bella Donna to four straight Nationals appearances, winning the Callahan Award in 2009 and making the semifinals in 2010. Georgia joined SF Fury in 2009 and for her three years on the team she was a dominant force who propelled the squad to three national titles and a gold medal at WUCC 2010. Fury’s coach Matty Tsang noted that during this time Georgia “was without peer for the power on her hucks, distribution skill, the ability to get open, and jaw dropping layouts on offense and defense.” She represented Team USA at multiple World Championships, earning silver in 2012 and gold in 2016, and twice competed at the World Games (2013, 2017), winning gold both times and serving as captain in 2017. Her pulling ability at the World Games broke barriers, redefining what was possible for women in mixed play.

Beyond her international success, Georgia shaped the club scene by co-founding and captaining Heist, bringing elite women’s ultimate to Madison and leading the team to six consecutive Nationals appearances. Later, she showcased her versatility with Space Heater, helping the squad to a third-place finish at Mixed Nationals in 2018. Georgia consistently elevated every team she joined, including her current impact as a coach for Heist.

Her leadership, charisma, and fierce competitiveness have inspired countless players, while her groundbreaking play helped expand the game’s possibilities. Georgia Shriwise’s career is defined not just by medals and accolades, but by the respect and admiration of peers and opponents alike. A dominant athlete, trusted leader, and passionate ambassador for ultimate, she leaves a legacy that will resonate for generations.

Georgia resides in Madison with her husband and children, working as a small animal veterinary surgeon.
