On August 13, 2024, the Ultimate Hall of Fame (UHoF) announced the slate of candidates selected for consideration for the 2024 Hall of Fame class. In addition to the ten player-candidates elevated from the Women’s division, ten player-candidates elevated from the Open division, and the eight player-candidates elevated from the Mixed division, an additional seven nominees have been elevated from the Contributor category.
Congratulations to these UHoF finalists and all the nominees. This year’s player-candidates include those who competed at their best against the best in their primary division of play during the 2006 to 2014 peak playing years. In the Contributor category, nominees include those innovative organizers and administrators from the 2006 to 2014 time period, as well as those whose contributions began much earlier.
Since 2009, the Hall has invited the ultimate community to provide their input on the slate of candidates via the Call to the Community. For 2024, we’ll be collecting the community’s input using quantitative metrics by seeking your rating of the player-candidates on each of the Seven Ultimate Hall of Fame Characteristics identified and defined for each player division. Additionally, input on contributor candidates is sought on the innovation and impact of their contributions in organizing significant play-related activities. This could include founding, establishing, developing, and fostering the growth of significant leagues, divisions, and/or tournaments that defined the sport in their time.
Please complete the Call to Community for the player division with which you are most familiar. Similarly, please review and provide input on the contributor nominees with whom you are most familiar. Your feedback, both laudatory and critical, is an important part of the committee’s consideration. We encourage candid participation from all who have personal experience with the candidates. All feedback will be kept strictly confidential and will be available to eligible Hall voters as part of their deliberations. The ratings for the candidates will be shared with the community should we get sufficient response to these surveys.
From the final slate of 10 Open, 10 Women’s division, and 8 Mixed division player candidates, the eligible voting members of the Hall will cast their ballots for up to 5 Open, up to 5 Women’s division, and up to 4 Mixed division players in 2 rounds of voting to select those individuals to be inducted into the Ultimate Hall of Fame. The Contributor candidates will be voted upon by all Hall members from the player and contributor categories. All final ballot candidates must achieve at least a 2/3rds majority to be inducted into the Hall.
